Nageshwar Temple is located on the route between Dwarka City and Bate Dwarka Island. Two stories are attributed to this Jyotirlinga according to Nageshwara Temple's history. These temples are the subject of two legends.
The Shiva Purana's first story is about 100 years old and concerns a demon couple called Daruka & Daruki.
Dwarka is now the name of the city. It was once named after the Asura couple. Daruki's wife Daruki, a devotee to Goddess Parvati, is Daruki.
Daruka, however, is a cruel beast who enjoys harassing those around him. He once imprisoned Supriya, a devotee of Lord Shiva, along with many others.
Daruka misused the blessings he received and continued to persecute locals somehow.
Supriya instructed the captives to chant the mantra Om Namaha Shivaye loudly while in captivity.
Supriya explained to the village that this mantra was strong enough to save them. Daruka learns about it and gets mad at her. He then decides to kill her. During this time, Lord Shiva appeared to the world in the form of Linga.
Parvati, Lord Shiva's wife, gave him a boon but it was not enough to stop the demon. He assured Supriya, Parvati, and the rest that he would provide protection in the form of Jyotirlinga.
