The Seetha Amman Temple, a Hindu Temple dedicated in Sri Lanka to Princess Sita, is located in Sri Lanka. It is located near the place where Seeta Mata spent approximately 5000 years in prison at Ravana. It is one of the most important Ramayana-related spots in Sri Lanka. It is also one of the few temples that are dedicated to Seeta.

History Of Seetha Amman Temple:

Here Ravana took Sita, the prisoner. She prayed every day for Rama. To rescue her in Epic Ramayana. The footprints of Lord Hanuman are found on the riverbank's rock face. This temple is also where Lord Hanuman delivered a message to  Sita Devi.

How do I reach the Seetha Amman Temple?

By Air:

Bandaranaike International Airport is the closest airport to this lovely place. To reach Seetha Amman Temple, one can take a taxi, cab, or bus to the airport. Nuwara Eliya is Sri Lanka's 'Little England.' The temple is only 6km away once you have reached Nuwara Eliya.

By Rail:

Nanu Oya railway station is located 13km from the Seetha Amman Temple. People who board the train at Colombo Railway Station will travel for approximately 7 hours and 15 minutes.

It takes approximately 6 hours20m to reach Nanu Oya by train. One can also reach the temple via local roads in 50-55 minutes.

By Road:

Kandy and Hatton are the main roads to Seetha Amman Temple. It will take you between 5-6 hours due to the poor road conditions.

Hakgala Botanical Gardens

The second-largest Botanical Garden in Sri Lanka is Hakgala Botanical Garden. It was founded by Dr. G.H.K. Thwaites experimented with Cinchona growth.

Since Seetha Amman Temple contains two temples, it is best to wear shoes that are simple to take off.

Given that the temple is situated in the heart of a tropical forest, it is advised to pack an umbrella.
