About Vocational Higher Secondary Education Kerala board
In 1983-84, Vocational Higher Secondary Education was established in Kerala. The scheme was costly and implemented in 19 schools with some courses. It was later extended to 73 schools, and it continued to grow with time. 2001 was the most recent expansion of the board's Vocational Higher Secondary Education Level schools.
With almost 1000 courses, the number of schools that applied for admissions increased to 375. There are currently almost 1100 batches of students in Kerala, spread across 389 schools. Vocational Higher Secondary Education has been modernized with 35 restructured programs. Of the 389 schools in Kerala Vocational Higher Secondary Education, there are 128 private schools and 261 government-affiliated schools.
