Canada is one of the most secular countries in the world. Indian immigrants came to Canada about 110 years ago. Since then the Hindu population has grown exponentially. Although they were initially shunned in the early stages of immigration, the Canadian Hindu community grew to be one of the most influential. Over 1000 temple societies are responsible for maintaining and building Hindu temples across Canada. In rural Nova Scotia, one of the first temples was built in 1971.

1. Hindu Mandir Sri Vitthal:

This temple, which is located in Toronto, Canada, is a hub for both religion and culture. Every month, Indians from all over Canada come to the temple. Additionally, the temple has a charitable registration. This temple is dedicated to Hinduism. It is made with consideration for Hindu culture. 2. Mandir Devi:

3. Brampton's ISKCON Temple:

An ISKCON temple was founded in Canada in 1966. To disseminate the fundamental lessons of Vedic literature across Canada was its founding credo. 4. Temple of Sringeri:

It is one of the most well-known Hindu temples in India and is situated in Toronto. Shradamba Devi is housed in this temple. The Srinigeri temple in Karnataka, India, served as the model for the temple. It is a well-known temple across the nation thanks to its exquisite construction.



5. Temple of Hindu Sabha:

One of the greatest locations for Hindu devotion in Canada is provided by this nonprofit. It has been successful in maintaining both the traditional Indian civilization and culture. In 1923, the Hindu Sabha registered the temple for the first time. The temple was established in 1995 with the shared goal of advancing Sanatana Dharma.






6. Brampton's Guruvayurappan Temple:

One of the biggest Hindu temples in Canada is this one, also in Brampton. The administrators of the temple are now rebuilding it, and they want to finish the job shortly.



7. Hindu Temple in Ottawa:

The Ottawa Hindu Temple is located in the country off of Bank Street. A group of Hindu Canadians founded the temple in the 19th century. There are currently over 5,000 Hindus residing in Ottawa.

9. BAPS Sri Swaminarayan Temple Canada :

BAPS Sri Swami Narayan Mandir is located in Toronto. It was built in 2007 by BAPS Swami Narayana Stha. Construction took 18 months. It is made up of 24,000 hand-carved pieces of Italian marble. It also includes Turkish limestone and Indian rose stone. It is the largest temple in Canada, spread over an area of 18 acres.


10. International Buddhist Association :

This amazing Canadian Buddhist temple was built in 1983. It is also known as Guan-Yin. Two Buddhists founded the International Buddhist Society. It is located in Richmond, British Columbia. Because of its strikingly beautiful structure, it is known as Richmond's Point of Pride.


11. Kanada Kandaswamy Temple :

This beautiful temple was established in 1998 by Sri K. Kailaishantha Kurukal. It is known as Nallur Kandaswamy Colville. It is the home of Navalar Perlman's big film. The ceremonies and rituals of this temple are similar to those of Nallur Kandavamy Temple in Jaffna, Sri Lanka.


12. Canada Sri Ayyappan Hindu Temple :

Sabarimala in Canada is the name of this temple. It was established in 1991. It was initially rented in a small area. Later in 1998, a separate land was purchased for the construction of the temple. This temple is very popular among Ayyappa devotees. In 2009, the first Kumbabhishekam was performed.


Canada has seen large-scale Hindu immigration since the 1960s. The Hindu diaspora consists mainly of Telugu, Tamils and Bengali Hindus. Temples serve as popular places for religious gatherings and cultural centers. They are open to all, regardless of faith or culture.
