Biography of "Dr. Priya Davidor".



  She is engaged as a conservationist in the protection of wildlife and forests and wildlife, Dr. Priya Davidor is an Indian scholar, researcher and author. They include her father, E.R.C Davidor, an environmentalist, and her brother, Sigur, among the founding members of the Nature Trust. The researcher graduated from Madras University in 1973 with B.Sc. She continued her education and completed her M.Sc in the year 1975. She earned a Ph.D while working on her thesis. at Bombay University in 1979 and S.M. in 1985 at Harvard University. She is an educator, researcher and well-known author who studies various areas of environmental sciences.

As the President of the Association for Tropical Biology and Conservation in 2009, Prof. Priya Davidar has been appointed Convener of Pondicherry University since 2009. The professor is an expert in conservation biology and behavior. She studied different types of resource utilization and forest degradation in different parts of India.

Her studies are often extensive, and her work on a wide variety of species in the Andaman Archipelago reveals that island dimensions as well as habitat characteristics are important factors in determining species diversity and their distribution.





Her doctoral thesis focused on the pollination of hemiparasitic mistletoe by nectar-feeding birds.
